TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ The IAF issues a statement asking for dignity for the deceased. “The IAF has constituted a tri-service Court of Inquiry to investigate the cause of the tragic helicopter accident on 8 December. The inquiry would be completed expeditiously and facts brought out. Till then, to respect the dignity of the deceased, uninformed speculation may be avoided,” the IAF statement read.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Thursday announced that a tri-service enquiry had been ordered by the Indian Air Force into the helicopter crash that killed Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 others. The enquiry, he said, would be headed by Air Marshal Manvendra Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Training Command. Conspiracy theories have been raging on social media since the chopper crash.
