TIL Desk Sports/Spain and Atletico Madrid star striker Fernando Torres believes that Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is doing a “great job”, adding that he is convinced that the club will win the English Premier League title soon. Spurs finished 11 points off the top last season despite being Leicester City’s closest title rivals for the majority of the campaign.
The former Chelsea striker, who will face Tottenham in the International Champions Cup on July 29 in Australia, said Spurs will only continue to improve under Pochettino’s guidance.
“Pochettino is doing a great job mixing these talented young players they have with more experienced players. They’re doing things really well. Last season they were really close to winning the Premier League and they are on their way, but in the future they will do it,” Torres was quoted as saying by Atletico Madrid’s official website on Monday.
