TIL Desk/National/New Delhi-Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke to British Prime Minister Theresa May to congratulate her on her assumption of new responsibility and affirmed India’s commitment to further strengthen the strategic bilateral partnership.
During the telephonic conversation, Modi also appreciated the UK’s consistent support to India in various global fora. Thanking Prime Minister Modi, May said she looked forward to working closely with him for developing stronger bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation in tackling pressing global challenges.
Modi also recalled his memorable visit to the UK last November. Theresa May was sworn in as Britains new prime minister on July 13, succeeding David Cameron who resigned after the country voted in favour of exiting the European Union.
