TIL Desk/Business/New Delhi/ Transport regulator in London announced today that Uber’s licence to operate in the city will not be renewed once it expires on September 30.
Authorities have cited ‘safety reasons’ for the decision. However, the company has three weeks to appeal.
‘Transport for London has concluded that Uber London Limited is not fit and proper to hold a private hire operator licence,’ a statement said.
There was no immediate reaction from Uber. It is also not clear whether it will be able to operate in October whilst any appeal is being considered.
