TIL Desk/National/Patna/ In a major development, the Bihar Cabinet on Tuesday announced 50 per cent reservation for members of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, other backward classes and minorities in the judicial services in the state.
The decision reserves 21% quota for aspirants belonging to Extremely Backward Class (EBC), 16% for members of Scheduled Caste, 12% for Other Backward Class (OBC) and 1% for Scheduled Tribe (ST).
The state government also announced 35% quota for women in all categories. In an another major decision, the government approved a compensation of Rs 11 lakh for families of BSF personnel from Bihar who lose their lives at the border while fighting for the country. Till now, Rs 5 lakh was being given as a compensation to the kin of army martyrs.
