CBI enquiry to unearth scams in Meghalaya, says Rajnath

“Rajnath Singh was addressing an election rally at Songsak in East Garo Hills district, in support of BJP candidates — Thomas Sangma, Ricky Marak and Santosh R. Marak – contesting from Songsak, Ronjeng, Williamnagar assembly seats respectively. Later in the day, he also addressed an election rally at Tura to campaign for South Tura candidate Billykid A. Sangma.

If the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is given the mandate, the senior BJP leader promised that power will be provided to every household and villages within two years. “People have to walk for several hours to fetch a bucket of water in the hills of Meghalaya, when the state boost of highest rainfall in the country. If BJP is voted to power, every household would be provided with clean drinking water,” he said. Taking credit for newly inaugurated Tura-Shillong National Highway, Rajnath Singh said, “Centre is pumping money for Meghalaya’s road maintenance but the state has failed in its duties.
