TIL Desk/National/Uttar Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced a Rs 3 lakh compensation to the victims of the Bulandshahr gang rape case. The CM has also offered a flat to both the victims. Earlier, Yadav said he was ready for a CBI probe and accused the opposition of “tutoring the victims”.
“The incident is shameful and unfortunate… We have issued strict directives and also took action against the officials… A team has been put in place and police and administration have been asked to take stern action and ensure that no one guilty is spared,” Yadav said.
“If the family of the victims want, we are ready for a CBI probe,” he said. The three men, who have been arrested, have been sent to 14-day judicial custody. However, the police is yet to arrest the gang leader Saleem Bawariya and other accused, who still remain absconding.
