TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s first response on the #MeToo movement sweeping the country and singing the government with multiple complaints of sexual harassment against Union Minister and former journalist MJ Akbar.
Yesterday, during a presser on Rafale and allegations that there was something fishy about Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s sudden visit to Paris to the Dassault plant, Rahul steered clear of answering questions on Akbar, saying while the #MeToo movement was very important he would address the issue at a separate press conference.
A day on, Rahul tweeted his support saying, “Its about time everyone learns to treat women with respect and dignity. I am glad the space for those who don’t, is closing. The truth needs to be told loud and clear in order to bring about change.”
