TIL Desk/National/New Delhi/ Even after district authorities denied him permission, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to visit the violence-hit Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh today. Yesterday, the Uttar Pradesh ADG Law and Order Aditya Mishra had requested all political parties to steer clear of the violence-hit area until the situation returns to normal.
“We have requested all political parties not to visit the state until the situation is brought back to normal in Saharanpur.” Mishra told. Gandhi will visit Saharanpur to take stock of the prevailing situation, where a caste conflict had erupted in which many Dalits were allegedly targeted.
Heavy force has been deployed since violence broke out on May 5. On Friday, the Centre provided two more companies of RAF to the district administration. Two companies of RAF are already stationed there.
