TIL Desk Sports/ Eighteen-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer and world number four Novak Djokovic will aim to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon when they take on their respective opponents in the fourth round of the men’s singles event later today.
Federer, the seven-time champion of the grass-court Grand Slam tournament, had booked his place in the pre-quarterfinals for the 15th time on Saturday when he swept aside Germany’s Mischa Zverev 7-6 (7-3), 6-4, 6-4.
Djokovic, on the other hand, had stormed into the last-16 after posting a 6-4, 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) win over Latvian player Ernests Gulbis. While Federer will take on Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov, Djokovic is slated to lock horns with France’s Adrian Mannarino in last-16.
It should be noted Federer has never lost to 13th seeded Dimitrov, who is yet to drop a set at this year’s Wimbledon. Meanwhile, Serbian maestro Djokovic is only two matches away from a potential semi-final showdown against Roger Federer after the Swiss beat Mischa Zverev 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 , 6-4.
