TIL Desk Sports/ Germany have returned to the top of FIFA’s world rankings, released on Thursday, for the first time in two years, knocking Brazil into second place.
Germany’s victory in the FIFA Confederations Cup against Chile on Sunday helped the team of coach Joachim Low to climb ahead of Brazil, Argentina and Portugal.
Additionally, Chile are down three places in seventh place ahead of Colombia. Portugal, Switzerland and Poland all jumped up to reach fourth, fifth and sixth places respectively.
The top 10 of the FIFA World rankings is as follows: 1. Germany 1609 points, 2. Brazil 1603, 3. Argentina 1413, 4. Portugal 1332, 5. Switzerland 1329, 6. Poland 1319, 7. Chile 1250, 8. Colombia 1208, 9. France 1199, 10. Belgium 1194.
